It's sad to see how skewed minds can be to think that the recent Bersih 2.0 rally had any correlation with races or political parties. Yes, it may seemed that supporters of opposition were heavily supporting the rally, but to my understanding, there were also BN supporters participating in the rally.
Firstly, the rally called for a clean and fair election (use of indelible ink, biometric system etc). Be it BN supporters or opposition supporters, we would definitely want fair democracy if we are indeed living in a democratic country. If our GE and its commission have been tempered with, it's no surprise that BN supporters and opposition supporters walked the rally. It has nothing political attached to it. If ever I'm a BN supporter, I would walk the cause too as I would want the political party that I support win/lose in a fair game.
But that's just too bad, I'm not a BN supporter! And I'm sure those who were, are going to think twice. To make matters worse, I'm ashamed to call Najib Razak the leader of my country, who made a mockery of the true democracy we stand for! I can see why he's not afraid for the upcoming election, probably the commission is already corrupted.
That's just not all that makes Malaysia unbearable at times. I hate the racism that goes on in this country, that sometimes debates can be ridiculous and child-like. I'm not just targeting on the Malays, but also the Chinese and Indians alike. If there is any religion in this world that requires its believers to hate another religion, or while practicing your religion indirectly caused you to go against another religion, you might want to forget about it. I can't imagine your God telling you that we all should live in peace, but whispers in your ear "Beware of this religion though, they are of no good".
I mean, seriously! What did someone do to you that you have to hate them and all of its kind? Sure, I have a thing or two that I'm not too happy with some people, but just because they are coincidentally Muslims, I hate the entire race already? Mind you, I have Muslims in my family too and they are perfectly fine.
I just wished the hardcore Muslims rethink how their comments on other races being immigrants to Malaysia will affect the peace of this country. Buddhism has always taught its believers kindness and compassion, but there is also a bunch of hooligan Chinese who just happened to have racism in their word diarrhoea.
This has to stop!! I was in a debate with a friend recently and his remarks were really child-like and downright ridiculous that I couldn't even stand to respond to such comments. He is a Chinese btw. Let all these immature racists be, let's just hope the young and educated ones know better.
